THE Premier, Barry O'Farrell, has issued a serious warning to home owners with solar panels after an audit of almost 700 homes in north-west Sydney found more than 18 per cent had major defects.

Ballarat has overwhelmingly rejected a carbon tax according to results of an online survey conducted at thecourier.com.au over the past week.

The online poll attracted 453 responses, with 83.7 per cent saying they were against a carbon tax, while a similar percentage said they would be financially worse-off under a carbon tax.

More than 50 per cent of respondents said climate change would not have any impact on their lives over the next decade, while 59.1 per cent said it was not possible to resolve climate change.
