Three years in, B.C. still on its own with carbon tax to fight climate change - Winnipeg Free Press
Some consider that a small price — perhaps too small — in the war against climate change, while others suggest B.C. has been the lone soldier in the climate war for too long and it's time to consider a retreat.Senator Inhofe Sends His Regrets - NYTimes.com

Prof. Andrew Weaver, a climate expert at the University of Victoria, said B.C. earned worldwide credibility for introducing its visionary carbon tax.
He [why would anyone consult this guy for policy advice?] said he still favours a go-slow approach to the tax, maintaining the current annual $5 per tonne increases, to allow business and residents to continue getting used to paying a price for carbon emissions.
Weaver, who was part of a government-appointed committee that helped develop and oversee the Liberal climate agenda, said he supports the carbon tax completely but believes using the name carbon tax was a mistake.
"When you mention the t-word, people freak out," he said. "I remember talking to former premier (Campbell) about this and he said to me straight to my face, 'you know what, the only thing I regret about the carbon tax is calling it a tax.'"

he was on the front foot at a speaking engagement in Perth this morning, saying the media's habit of dubbing him a "climate change denier" was "accusing me in effect of being on a par with that nastiest form of fascism which is holocaust denial".
"That phrase has been used according to Google, several hundred thousand times," he said.
"There is very plainly a nasty double standard here ... what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander."
