Green jobs growing even as economy wilts | Grist
In the past two years, the number of online job postings containing the keyword "sustainability" has more than quadrupled to 8,245 in May, according to Indeed.com, which aggregates online job postings. The number containing "wind" and "solar" more than doubled in the same time period.

Some of that growth might have come from the $800 billion economic stimulus package, about $100 billion of which was devoted to green-related projects, said Robert Pollin, a professor of economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

So it's not hard to understand why Williams and many of his neighbors welcomed the idea of a $6 billion coal-to-liquids plant that would create 4,000 construction jobs and require 500 people to operate.

Bike Trails Finally Open for Mount Washington Alpine Resort this Friday
After receiving the most snowfall in resort history this past winter, Mount Washington Alpine Resort in British Columbia is finally "winning the battle for dirt." The resort will open bike park trails this Friday, July 15th to commence the much-anticipated summer riding season. It has only been one month ago that Mount Washington crews were still digging through 15 feet of snow to hit the top of the Big Brother Trail.

Green jobs are increasing - by a simple redefinition of what a (green) job is -

- standing in an unemployment line is a green job

- fighting with a bank loan officer over a mortgage about to be foreclosed is a green job

- restoring a site where a factory once stood and closed down as a result the inability to meet EPA extortion I mean regulation is a greeen job

- collecting trash to burn in your own oven to keep warm over the winter is a green job

- soliciting money from patsies for Al Gore "solar" projects is a green job
