Skiers enjoy final fling on slopes in Sierra | NevadaAppeal.com
The deep snowpack has delayed the start of mountain backpacking and hiking for a month to two months, depending on the elevation, said Lane, a recreation planner for the agency. The popular Desolation Wilderness near Tahoe has seen few visitors so far.

“It's still a white wonderland at the highest passes 8,000 feet elevation and up,” he said. “The lakes at the higher elevations are still covered with snow. From 6,000 feet to 8,000 feet, there's starting to be more brown than white.”
Coal powers Bloomberg’s New York, just as it does the rest of the nation » Columns » Bluefield Daily Telegraph, Bluefield, WV
But you, Mayor Bloomberg, are much smarter than that. I suspect that you are fully aware that half of the nation’s energy is generated from coal. (Here in our state the number is closer to 99 percent.) You know that coal is essential to this country’s economy and well-being.

I would also think that you are aware that coal is what makes steel. And when I see the pretty, pretty images of your great city, I can’t help but be impressed by the many tall buildings constructed of, well, you know ... steel. I believe, Mayor Bloomberg, if you truly want to stand strong in the anti-coal fight, you should boycott these buildings. After all, they’re a product of “dirty coal.” Why not be true to the cause? Tear down these ugly structures, built with the blood of coal, and construct bamboo huts. Wouldn’t they be more eco-friendly?

Mayor Bloomberg, I know the Sierra Club people, like you, have a noble cause. I have received many e-mails from their members likening me to Satan and other evil entities because I dare to publicly support coal. And, I can assure you, they are excellent e-mail writers, compiling these missives on their electric powered computers in their comfy, air-conditioned homes and offices.

Ironic, isn’t it?

Calling Skeptics Stupid Doesn’t Convince Anyone | Donna Laframboise
I’ve just written an entire book on the IPCC, an exposé if you will. When it becomes available in September I’ll think I’ll send Cunningham a copy. Perhaps I’ll even draw his attention to the fact that not once, in that entire volume, do I rant about how stupid those involved are. Nor do I equate those people with Holocaust deniers.

Instead, I let the facts speak for themselves.
