A "once in a lifetime" polar blast of snow, sleet and gales has blocked roads, grounded flights and cut power across New Zealand. We can reduce our emissions, or they can reduce them for us | Climate Nonconformist

Blizzards lashing the South Island moved on to the more populated North Island, with falls in central Wellington and southern suburbs of Auckland where snow had not been seen since the mid-1970s.

Philip Duncan, from the WeatherWatch service, told the New Zealand Herald: "I've been watching the weather closely for about 15 years and I've never seen a prediction like this."
He said the intensely cold weather was due to a large high pressure system stretching from Antarctica to the sub-tropics, which had merged with three neighbouring low-pressure systems.
So, these two bureacracies I’ve never heard of before, are going to have the power to regulate electricity to our homes? Yeah, that’s what we want. More government intrusion into our lives.C3: Objective Analysis of Ocean Warming Determines IPCC Climate Models' Prediction 2x Too High
Notice, they’re going to restrict our energy use when we need it most, during “extremely cold nights and exceptionally hot days”. Did they consider that they may put people at risk, particulary the elderly? What a pitiful excuse too, so we don’t need more power plants.
Using actual ocean warming records and comparing those to IPCC climate models was recently accomplished. The purpose of doing so was to determine if model(s) sensitivity would produce predicted warming that matched the actual warming. The determination from the analysis was that the models robustly overestimated ocean warming versus actual - 3.0°C vs 1.3°C.
