Global warming and the urban heat island effect « Reasonable Doubt on Climate Change
I’ve been noticing the lack of “global warming” seen in small town temperature stations in the NASA GISS surface station database.Another IPCC prediction fails | Behind The Black

So New Mexico small towns show no global warming from 1920-2010. Of course Albuquerque international airport, in a region with something like 800,000 people, shows “global warming”.
It seems that at least in part, “global warming” is due to asphalt, automobiles and other city gadgets rather than carbon dioxide. Climate scientists are actually measuring urbanization.
So, the IPCC scientists guessed that thermal expansion had to be a major contributor to sea-level rise, estimating its contribution to be anywhere from 55 to 70 percent of the total.Important Question: Is Michele Bachmann More Mary Ann Or Ginger?: Gothamist
Let me highlight the differences:
IPCC estimate: 55 to 70 percent of the total.
New data: less than 1 percent of the total.
The IPCC’s estimate seems a bit wrong, eh?
Robinson thought Jon Huntsman was the Professor because he believes in global warming.
