Hansen's GISS: "the expectation of new record high temperatures in 2012 also suggests that the frequency and magnitude of extreme events could reach a high level in 2012"

AccuWeather.com - Climate Change | 2012 Likely to Reach Record High Global Temperature, according to NASA
NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) just posted a recap of the summer of 2010. Along with that, they also made some predictions about the global temperatures for 2011 and 2012.
the extreme winter cold anomalies in Eurasia and the United States were a fluke associated with the most extreme Arctic Oscillation in the record....it is unlikely that 2011 will reach a new global record temperature.

In contrast, it is likely that 2012 will reach a record high global temperature...

Given the association of extreme weather and climate events with rising global temperature, the expectation of new record high temperatures in 2012 also suggests that the frequency and magnitude of extreme events could reach a high level in 2012.
...Scientific inquiries about the analysis may be directed to Dr. James E. Hansen.
I wonder if they also watched a certain recent Hollywood disaster movie or a particular calendar in regards to the above underlined statement. Brett.

I can't find the words "fluke" or "Eurasia" in the accuweather link.

I thought the comment that you highlighted "the extreme winter cold anomalies in Eurasia and the United States were a fluke associated with the most extreme Arctic Oscillation in the record....it is unlikely that 2011 will reach a new global record temperature." was worth looking up. Is the link the correct link of was this removed from the page?
