The FINANCIAL -- Today, the United Nations Global Compact, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC Secretariat) signed an agreement to join forces on Caring for Climate, the Global Compact-UNEP initiative aimed at advancing the role of business in addressing climate change.

LONDON - A binding global pact to limit global emissions should not be finalized until 2015, according to a U.N. submission by Australia and Norway.

The two countries reckon it will take four years to agree a legally-binding deal that includes emission targets for developed and developing countries.
