Mayor Declares Sept. 'Climate Change Awareness Month' - San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO -- Supporters of climate change awareness say proof is there and the time to act is now.

"It certainly feels like the climate is changing and not for the better," said San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro at a Wednesday press conference.

Castro used this summer's heat wave as an example that the climate is changing and outlined a need to change resident's habits to greener ways...
The city is teaming with 350SanAntonio.org, a local arm of a national grassroots campaign to find solutions to what they call a climate crisis. Other local organizations also came to support the mayor's proclamation.

"We have a lot of global warming deniers out there and for the mayor to make a statement and accept the science and ask the city of San Antonio to build awareness and work on solutions is wonderful," said Mobi Warren, with 350SanAntonio.org.

I've lived all of my 49 years in the same central Texas city. There is nothing that has happened in the last couple of years that I haven't experienced in the past. And I grew up hearing stories from my parents, aunts and uncles on how hot, dry, wet, and stormy things were while they were growing up here too.
