The four great lies of climate change policy - The Drum Opinion (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
Recently, I have been speaking at Rotary clubs about the emissions trading scheme with a fixed price (AKA the carbon tax).BREAKING: An IPCC backchannel ‘cloud’ was apparently established to hide IPCC deliberations from FOIA. | Watts Up With That?
The feedback from the audiences has been illuminating. I have learnt about the power of advertising and the Government to modify the truth. To make certainties out of possibilities. To shine a light on one aspect of an issue. To leave the evidence and the entire explanation in the shadows. It is public manipulation by marginalisation of the facts.
A complex, multi-faceted issue such as climate change is a perfect opportunity for obfuscation and diversion. The opportunity is even more compelling when the public purse is available to pay for the messages.
CEI has learned of a UN plan recently put in place to hide official correspondence on non-governmental accounts, which correspondence a federal inspector general has already confirmed are subject to FOIA. This ‘cloud’ serves as a dead-drop of sorts for discussions by U.S. government employees over the next report being produced by the scandal-plagued IPCC, which is funded with millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars.Donna Laframboise’s new book causing reviews in absentia amongst some AGW advocates | Watts Up With That?
I had to laugh after reading the reviews on Amazon.com for Donna Laframboise’s book: The Delinquent Teenager Who Was Mistaken for the World’s Top Climate ExpertThere’s some double fun here, because the title reminds me of the language used in the 1 star review given by Dr. Peter Gleick of the Pacific Institute.
The first fun part: Gleick apparently never read the book before posting a negative review, because if he had, he wouldn’t be intellectually slaughtered by some commenters who challenge his claims by pointing out page and paragraph in the book showing exactly how Gleick is the one posting false claims.
