Witches, God, climate change … it's a matter of belief
Simon Turnill uses the internet to pursue the public debate on climate change. Trained as an engineer and lawyer, Turnill runs the Australian Climate Madness blog, which carries the sub-heading ''Just don't tell me the debate is over …'' He says he is ''agnostic'' on the science of climate change, but links to sceptics' blogs from around the world.

He agrees with Kitcher that, ''with something as complex as climate change … most people don't have the skills to properly analyse and criticise the technicalities of the science.

''However, I don't believe that's a good enough reason to abandon public debate and move on. … people can understand when there's a smell about it; there's something not quite right with the process. People can see the way climate science is being discussed at the United Nations. It's been tainted with a very strong political agenda, which is skewing the results.''
