Warmist Mark Hertsgaard in Al Jazeera: Texas fires "made it seem that the end of days might well be approaching...Texas appeared to have descended into the fires of hell"

One Republican candidate's hellfire - Opinion - Al Jazeera English
Global warming-denying governor and presidential candidate Rick Perry can't escape a major reckoning at home.
...
Perry’s followers among evangelical Christians like to talk about the “end of days”, when the Lord will return to judge the living and the dead. The ferocious heat and drought that have been punishing Texas for the last 12 months made it seem that the end of days might well be approaching, though not exactly in the way Governor Perry and fellow evangelicals mean. As one region of the Lone Star State after another has been engulfed in flames and smoke, Texas appeared to have descended into the fires of hell.

Anyone who read the Texas Forest Service's info on these fires knows the TFS said most of them were suspected arson events...Also, over the past weekend, much of the state has had 5-8 inches of rainfall. The horticulturists at A & M with the extension service regularly give seminars on cedar (juniper) tree removal, and they state these wildfires are as old as the land, nature's way of controlling the junipers....These fires are part of natural cycles, less frequent since ranching replaced hunting and gathering buffalo hunters.
