We're saved!: $8.5 million spent on Vermont solar panels in order to achieve alleged annual CO2 reductions that were worth about $10 on the Chicago Climate Hoax Exchange

$8.5M Vermont National Guard solar project completed
The project will help reduce reliance on foreign oil, [How much foreign oil is burned to produced electricity in Vermont?] help the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and help the economy by creating jobs and saving taxpayers’ money, Sanders said. This project will produce 1.5 megawatts of clean energy, save the Vermont National Guard nearly $250,000 per year in energy costs, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions from the base by about 236 tons per year.

They are going to save 236 tons of CO2 a year? That works out to 1.2 rail cars full of coal per year saved.

Doesn't seem financially worth it to me...
