FASHIONISTAS Elle Macpherson, Stella McCartney and Helen Mirren have joined a charity's campaign to keep older people warm this winter.

Age UK Barnet is collecting unwanted winter coats as part of its Spread the Warmth campaign which aims to make winter warmer for 360,000 older people.

The charity says more than 200 elderly people die every day in winter due to the effects of cold weather.

Meat Free Monday Many people are unaware that livestock production is responsible for 18% of global greenhouse gas emissions – more than the entire global transport sector combined. Founded by Paul, Stella and Mary McCartney, Meat Free Monday is an environmental campaign to raise awareness of the climate-changing impact of meat production and consumption. Meat Free Monday also provides a wealth of information around the health issues of eating meat, and tasty vegetarian alternatives for otherwise carnivorous diets.
