SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - A top official with the New Mexico Environment Department says concerns about higher utility costs as one reason the agency is no longer supporting state regulations aimed at curbing greenhouse gas emissions.

Readings at the municipal airport dropped to 30 degrees at some point between 4 and 8 a.m., National Weather Service data said.

A record-low temperature of 48 degrees was recorded at the Santa Monica Pier on Monday. The previous record of 49 degrees was recorded in 1975.

Record lows were also recorded Monday at Long Beach Airport and Sandberg Airport.
