IPCC head Pachauri still doesn't seem clear on that whole "policy neutral" thing

Patna, Nov 11 (PTI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and climate expert RK Pachauri today emphasised on increase of forest cover and implementation of the green building code among various measures to stem global warming. There was a need to step up social forestry, plantation of trees to increase forest cover and implementation of the green building code to check global warming and climate change, they said at a workshop on climate change here. Modi said the Bihar government was likely to prepare a work plan in the next fiscal year to step up measures to combat global warming through afforestation drive and implementation of the green building code in the state. Pachauri painted a grim picture of the adverse impact of climate change and claimed that the temperature may increase by 1.5. to 2.5 degree Celsius due to global warming. Referring to Bihar, Pachauri said the state was likely to face flood situation due to melting of glaciers in Nepal and adjoining reasons.
