Earth to sizzle if countries won’t act

DURBAN, South Africa: Leaders who wait for further evidence about the perils of greenhouse gases are flirting with escapism, the head of the United Nations’ (UN) Nobel-winning climate scientists says.

“You cannot possibly keep waiting forever for new evidence of global warming to act,” Rajendra Pachauri, head of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), said on the sidelines of the UN climate talks in Durban.
...
“The (2007) 4th assessment report has enough substance which provides the basis for taking action,” Pachauri told Agence France-Presse during the interview on Wednesday.

“If the world accepts this scientific reality, then surely they should do something about it.

Chevy Volt Uses No Gas – Unless it’s Cold Out | National Legal and Policy Center

It will be interesting to see how the satisfaction of Volt owners holds up when they struggle to keep warm in cold temperatures. One of the early complaints about the Volt was the lack of adequate heating. Engineers had to tone back the heat to help conserve battery charge. The cold weather also greatly reduces the Volt's battery range. Early Consumer Reports' tests showed a reduced range in cold weather closer to 20 miles than the much-hyped 30 to 45 mile claims. That was before CR mysteriously became a fan and recommended the Volt, despite the lack of long-term reliability data and the safety issues that have surfaced.

Scandal and Insanity at Penn State - Paul Driessen - Townhall Conservative

Penn State needs to conduct a real investigation, by honest independent analysts who have no ties to the university or the climate crisis consortium. Its trustees took bold, decisive action on the Sandusky scandal. They need to do the same thing with Professor Mann, his department and colleagues.

Far too much is at stake – for the university, United States and world at large – to permit Penn State (or the IPCC or White House) to merely rearrange the furniture.

Climate Change Desertification Prediction Comes True: Funding Drying Up

Global talks on climate change are failing. Don’t expect any relief from Durban. Why? Look, the EU and the rest of the world have more important things on their mind, like the greek debt mess and what that means for Italy, Spain, Ireland and the rest of Europe.

In other words, we need to pay attention to reality now.
