Climatologist James Hansen on “Cowards in Our Democracies”
The fossil fuel kingpins who profit from the public's fossil fuel addiction, some of them multi-billionaires, are loosely knit, but with a well-understood common objective of maintaining the public's addiction. These kingpins have the resources to be well aware of the scientific knowledge concerning the consequences of continued exploitation of fossil fuels. However, they choose not only to ignore those facts, but to support activities intended to keep the public ill- informed. These kingpins are guilty of high crimes against humanity and nature. It is little consolation that the world will eventually convict them in the court of public opinion or even, unlikely as it is, that they may be forced to stand trial in the future before an international court of justice.

Where does J. Hanson live? Florida? For a "scientist" he's pretty dumb. He bikes to work? Eats locally?
He needs to get out more, preferably to northern latitudes to gain some perspective on the tub he's thumping.
We burn sh*t to stay warm 6-8 months of the year James and truck sh*t from Florida/California to eat in the winter.
Haven't seen a solar harvester yet or one powered by wind. Imagine a "wind semi" cruising down some highway, will ya, bringing produce to Canada in the winter. Will it be all sail drive?
And I am sure brave Sir Jimmy would willingly submit to a public pillorying should his alarmism turn out to be nonsense. These people calling for various punishments for "deniers" should by the same token, be willing to submit to equal mortification should it turn out that they were FOS.
Robert, I agree. These deceivers are constantly calling for the punishment of deniers. Let's subject them to the same that they have called for.
