Lorne Gunter: Foreign eco-foundations pump hundreds of millions into anti-oilsands fight | Full Comment | National Post

Environmentalists love to portray themselves as plucky underdogs standing up courageously to huge corporate monsters. The truth, though, is that they are exceptionally well-funded – better funded in many cases than the corporations’ publicity arms – exceptionally well-organized with very sophisticated PR machines behind them. Next time a green activist talks about corporate greed or the power of transnational companies, scoff.

Global warming: red-faced climatologist issues grovelling apology – Telegraph Blogs

This "Even though I was wrong I'm still right" syndrome afflicts a lot of people in the climate alarmist community. But then, you can hardly blame them for their wilful self-delusion and glib complacency for they seem to operate in a bubble in which there are no punishments for failure.

The Reference Frame: James Annan lost his bet against a skeptic

It may be appropriate to mention that various politicians and others have bet a few trillions of taxpayers' dollars for speculations that are qualitatively similar – but much less likely – than James Annan's 2008 expectation. What do you think, will the taxpayers see any of these dollars again? I am sure that the taxpayers will be just "unlucky" because they won't. ;-)

Just like a communist is a person who is ready to sacrifice your life for his ideals, a global warming alarmist is a person who is ready to sacrifice your wealth for his delusions.
