The Press Association: Solar panel 'scams' under fire

An energy and climate change minister has hit out at "scams" in the selling of solar panels.

Lord Marland defended the Government's controversial decision to slash the feed-in tariff for solar power.

He told peers it was not fair to spend £8 billion of taxpayers' money on meeting 0.1% of electricity demand through the subsidy.

"There was a scam and there's still a scam going on," Lord Marland said in a debate on the Government's green agenda.
