Researcher John Wahr allegedly just claimed that worldwide ocean levels are rising at at rate of about six inches per decade

Earth's Polar Ice Melting Less Than Thought - US News and World Report
Ocean levels worldwide are rising about six tenths of an inch per year, according to researcher John Wahr.
Update: That was fast. Now the article says that sea levels are rising six HUNDREDTHS of an inch per year. --- Corrected 2/8/12: An earlier version of this article misidentified the rate at which global sea levels are rising. ---

"...six tenths of an inch per year..."—this is an obvious error. It's about an eighth of an inch per year, which makes me wonder if he was misquoted saying a sixth of an inch (which would still be an exaggeration). Six tenths of an inch per year would be five feet over a century, and if that was the case, we'd be hearing a lot more noise about it.

The article says "Ocean levels worldwide are rising about six hundredths of an inch per year, according to researcher John Wahr."

Did they edit out their error?
