Insanity has been defined as doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome, and that’s precisely where our country now stands with regard to the conservative denial of reality
I’m very glad to serve and help in any way that I can, especially with regard to AGU’s scientific outreach mission
AGU Policy on Nondiscrimination and Freedom of Access
This policy and following guidelines have been developed solely to
assure the nondiscriminatory treatment of individual scientists with respect to the programs and activities of AGU. They are
not intended to be used to exert political pressure on any facility, organization, or country. Such political activity is
not in the spirit of AGU's non-political tradition or in accord with the Union's advocacy policy.
Flashback: AGU hijacked by warmists; cleanup needed
Consider warmist McPhaden's board appointments. As Appell points out, McPhaden appointed left-wing English major and global warming zealot Chris Mooney to AGU's board. After Mooney's resignation (maybe related to the impending publication of Mooney's book "The Republican Brain: The Science of Why They Deny Science--and Reality"), McPhaden evidently filled Mooney's board position with another warmist, "Climate Communication" director Susan Joy Hassol, who still lists Peter Gleick as a "Science Advisor".

The communications experts forgot to mention what the heck an AGU might be.
"How could they boast of a "non-political tradition" after recently adding rabid left-winger Chris Mooney to their board to focus on science communication?"
Simple - Because AGU members allow it. I wish someone would explain why any AGU member would remain affiliated with AGU or at the least, call for new leadership at AGU after the Gleick fiasco.
Symptomatic of the reason why I resigned membership in AGU. Probably should turn in my 50 year membership pin. W.C. Luth
The AGU jumped the shark years ago, this comes as no surprise.
If you have the stomach for it, check out some AGU contributions from the inimitable, Heidi Cullen.
The AGU is nothing more than an outfit dedicated to the "application of Dialectical Materialism to geophysical science."
Sometimes the reverse as well.
