Look, I want better global governance as much as the next liberal—but I know that the to express oneself in this way is to trigger conservative ire. And that goes doubly or triply if you’re a scientist and you want to be seen as a nonpartisan expert who is fair and even-handed. The call for global governance will appear inherently political to conservatives; heck, I am willing to bet that in a controlled experiment, such a framing will also drive them to deny global warming even more strongly than they do normally.

What a great name for a Desmog Blogger - "Mooney"... But with all his attempts at gentleness in his message he sticks his head in his nether regions, still. Desmog is a fallacy factory of the highest order.
1/ He should look up the definition of Liberal, as it was initially intended.
2/Basically, he wants the proponents of global governance in the name of Gaia to LIE and misrepresent what their intentions are.
3/ He, like many on his side, confuse "morality" for philosophy. There are no "systems of morality" - morality is an absolute collections of values that all societies share. It is not up for definition.
Philosophy is a collection of preferences that a person may have or a group of people may share. They might change day to day.
Lefties are the worst at wrongly defining their philosophies as morality.
