Inhofe’s “Hoax”: foolish and dangerous
Let us grant that Inhofe believes what he writes. But sincerity doesn't let him off the hook. It's a serious matter when a politician dismisses the patient work of a large body of scientists as a hoax. It is an attack on the intellectual integrity not just of the scientists concerned but of the whole culture on which civilised society depends. Inhofe claims to have science on his side, quoting the handful of contrarian scientists whose work, such as it is, has not carried weight in the rigorous processes of the scientific community. But his claim is bombast.

It's bit more serious to take public funds to commit fraud.
Isn't it remarkable that there isn't one shred of this "work of a large body of scientists" that hasn't been refuted or rebutted.
There's nothing that stands. Nothing at all! After all the yelling, wailing, and accusations about ulterior motives, there isn't a single thing presented as "fact" that has not been undermined upon closer examination.
That's pretty serious if you ask me. After more than 100 years, nothing that Clerk Maxwell discovered and analyzed has been refuted.
After more than a hundred billion dollars of wasted effort trying to demonstrated the existence of something that isn't there, there isn't a single thing left that will persist as an authentic discovery about the physical world
