Childlike faith: Oreskes claims that rejecting CAGW is equivalent to rejecting the ideas that earthquakes are caused by plate tectonics or that vaccinations prevent disease

Naomi Oreskes deconstructs Nick Minchin's climate denial - YouTube

Naomi Oreskes explains with great clarity the driving force behind climate denial - aversion to the political and economic implications of climate change leading to a rejection of the science.

Around the 1-minute mark, Oreskes says that to reject that human greenhouse gas emissions are the #1 climate driver would be equivalent to rejecting the ideas that earthquakes are caused by plate tectonics or that vaccinations prevent disease.

I've never heard Oreskes give any specific detail about the alleged evidence proving that human CO2 emissions are the main climate driver.  I think she's wasted a good portion of her life fighting on the wrong side because she's trusted the wrong people to do her thinking for her.

The ideas that earthquakes are caused by plate tectonics has not reached those in the CAGW movement that believe earthquake/tsunamis are increasingly caused by global warming. Naomi Oreskes has some church cleaning to do.

Would it be unreasonable to say that Oreskes is yet another one of these 'social science' academics who could never hack it in the hard sciences or engineering...and so she'll embrace of those corners of 'science' that overlap with her work in compensation?
