Mr. Durbin said scientific evidence of a tie between carbon-sparked global warming and severe weather "is indisputable."
Such a link "has been proven. It's been proven time and time again, and the science is clear," he said. "Tell me (recent weather outbreaks) are a coincidence. I don't believe it."
While converting to hybrid cars and other steps may be costly, "it's your money or your life," Mr. Durbin said. "The warming climate is changing our weather patterns. We're experiencing more severe events."

"It's been proven time and time again" according to Durban. Well, he's got us there. I happened in the 1920's, the 1950's and the 1970's.
Dick Durbin is clueless about just how much damage to the environment the production of a hybrid car causes, not to mention the amount of CO2 such production also creates. He notes hybrids are expensive, but does he not realize why they're expensive?
The batteries themselves are produced in countries where there are fewer environmental regulations. I guess as long as he doesn't see the damage they cause, he'll continue to incorporate magic into his thought processes.
Unfortunately for Mr. Durbin, many millions of us cannot afford hybrids since the Obama recession hit. There are real people in the U.S. that are truly suffering because of the energy policies of this administration. We are paying $1200 in auto fuel alone right now and can't afford to buy a new car. Public transport would take a minimum 2.5 hours each way so that is no option. Public employees live in a vacuum.
Many years ago I would regularly have discussions with Senor Durbin about this or that. Not much has changed with him. He was, and is, a real Tool. He will parrot whatever he needs to to get ahead. Not much of an original thinker. If Dick says something find out who told him to say it if you want the whole story.
It all averages out. Durbin doesnt believe the facts and we don't believe Durban.

Anyhow CO2 is not the reason for climate variations.
CO2 is food for plants.
When a stupid hack like Dick Durbin says "the science is indisputable" you know that said "science" must be 180 degrees off course.
Turban Durban is as crazy as a fruit-cake. One of the great mysteries of life is how fools like this get elected to any office, let alone the US Senate. I wish we could transfer people who are terrified of CO2, to their special world of no CO2, and watch them starve to death as all the plants die.
Usually politicians are fairly careful about what they say. I think the frustration that they are losing the debate on global warming is really getting to the true believers such as Sen. Durbin. He has really gone off the deep end with these comments.
Sen. Durbin's comment reminds me of what Michael Crichton said about global warming as a religous movement. The hybrid car is sort of the sacrifice that must be made for the planet.
Am I missing something here ?
