Environment Canada will see dramatic change of role after budget cuts: critics | JunkScience.com
Well it doesn’t sound like these 7,000-odd ‘scientists’ are doing anything worthwhile to begin with. In fact, why are they employing 7,000 ‘scientists’ in the first place – “global warming” science is allegedly settled, don’t need them. Don’t need to monitor the conceptual ‘ozone layer’ either. Why are all these people on the government payroll?
Quadrant Online - Delingpole mania hits Perth
Delingpole is small but perfectly formed; he is droll, quirky, deadpan - and deadly serious. He spoke briefly about the book, kicking off with the infamous exploding-child videos in the 10:10 campaign launched in the UK around a year ago (made by Richard Curtis and featuring a cast of green luvvies a mile long.) But it was when he opened the floor up to questions that we really saw him in his element. Delingpole is excellent on the spot and on his feet; we covered a huge range of concerns, from Agenda 21 and the increasing loss of private property rights to government regulation, to the massively-subsidised ‘eco-crucifixes’ known as wind farms, which destroy natural wildlife to an extent that Evil Big Oil can only dream about.
You may be green, but you're full of germs | Space, Military and Medicine | News.com.au
Dr Gerba, in Australia to discuss bacteria control for White King, recommends using a bleach tablet to clean the machine weekly. "Your clothes are far germier than your grandparents were because most people use cold water washes and short wash cycles," he said.
"The average wash load has 2-3g of faeces in it."
Using warm cycles and clothes dryers may not be very "green" but they do help to kill the germs, he said. Faecal matter can cause illnesses such as salmonella, gastroenteritis and diarrhoea.
NYT: Americans Link Global Warming
While many online polls are not representative of the broad public, Knowledge Networks is noted for its efforts to overcome this problem, including giving computers to households too poor to have them. The survey reveals public attitudes that are at least roughly consistent with scientific understanding of how the climate is changing.
