Pascal Bruckner: The Ideology of Catastrophe - WSJ.com
You'll get what you've got coming! That is the death wish that our misanthropes address to us. NOAA adds a little more than 0.5 degrees on to 2012 temperatures, and subtracts a little less than 0.1 degrees from 1910 temperatures. By doing this, they were able to make a press release saying that 2012 was warmer than 1910.
Chances are that the raw thermometer data was warmer in 1910. But we will never know, because they only release numbers which have been tampered with.

The authors of a recent study published in the journal Nature conclude that the forecasted future effects of rising temperatures on malaria  "are at least one order of magnitude smaller than the changes observed since about 1900 and about two orders of magnitude smaller than those that can be achieved by the effective scale-up of key control measures." In other words, climate change is and will likely remain a small factor in the toll of malaria deaths into the foreseeable future.
