This debate was part of the 'Green Dialogue' series under the GreenKarbon programme, a Deutsche Bank -Sanctuary Asia climate change–biodiversity initiative.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Pachauri, Director General, TERI said, "As a country of 1.2 billion people and as a society which clearly occupies and important place on the global stage we need to come to terms with what really is in the best interests of India".
