Now José María – who coined the phrase "there's no planet B" when head of the World Economic Forum – has joined his sister in the fight for a global energy revolution by taking over as head of the climate change business thinktank Carbon War Room, which aims to get business to cut gigatonnes of carbon by sharing best practice information.
She hopes to lead the world's public sector into a low carbon future, he the private sector.
Mission & Vision | Carbon War Room
Carbon War Room focuses on the market barriers that reinforce the status quo and prevent capital from flowing to sustainable solutions with compelling returns. Often, strong policy is a necessary but insufficient condition, and technology is not the bottleneck: Capital has to flow to solutions in a well-functioning market-place.

When we set up the Carbon War Room there was a lot of debate about whether it was wrong to call it that. I actually insisted that as we are fighting a war on carbon, the name said exactly what it was meant to say. Since the Carbon War Room is set up to come up with answers to stop the world being damaged from the effects of climate change, the name portrayed the urgency and degree of mobilisation required.

As I noted at the beginning of this chapter, during these past few years democratic alternation of governments has, to our great satisfaction, increasingly become the norm in almost all of Latin America and the Caribbean. It has been a period of many elections. In Jamaica, our member party, the People's National Party, returned to power. The coalition which includes the SI's member parties was re-elected in Chile. José María Figueres and the National Liberation Party, our members, won elections in Costa Rica.

So, if this Jose Maria Figueres listed above in SocialistInternational is the same one that is working with Branson, then Branson is working with socialists.
