Suppose that a CEO was unhappy with a 70 year downward trend in his company’s revenues, so he told his accountants to develop a new accounting method which shows an increase. Then he erased the original raw data from the company website, and presented the new graphs  without mention of the change in accounting practices. Chances are that law enforcement would be hauling him away in the not too distant future.

As the world continues to warm from climate change, oceans will rise up to 8 inches in the next 20 years, 19 inches by 2050, and up to 4 feet by 2100, causing increasing threats from flooding, according to a new study released Friday from the National Academy of Sciences.
