Indigenous in Rio: 'NO!' to False Green Economy and Carbon Cowboys | the narcosphere
“We see the goals of UNCSD Rio+20, the 'Green Economy,' and its premise that the world can only ‘save’ nature by commodifying its life-giving and life-sustaining capacities as a continuation of the colonialism that Indigenous Peoples and our Mother Earth have faced and resisted for 520 years”, the declaration states.
Calling it a new wave of colonialism, Indigenous Peoples from around the world are fighting to protect their rivers and forests, their air and land from green scams and false climate solutions. They are also remembering the Indigenous environmental activists from around the world who have been murdered protecting their homelands from mining and drilling.
Indigenous Peoples from the United States and Canada are focused on halting the environmental nightmare of Alberta’s dirty tarsands, which has already destroyed Cree homelands in Canada, and the Keystone pipelines, which could pollute even more waterways and lands in the US.
The Indigenous Environmental Network is battling “carbon cowboys,” and exposing the false climate solutions and scam carbon credits of the carbon market, which allows the world’s worst polluters to continue polluting.
Analyzing people who talk about AGW denialism | Climate Etc.
JC comment: I view this pretty much as the green equivalent of the unabomber billboard. I find this kind of stuff in a high impact journal to be offensive: what was Nature Climate Change thinking when they published this?
Somebody needs to research the sociology and psychology of people that insist that anyone that does not accept AGW as a rationale for massive CO2 mitigation efforts is a “denier.” The complexity of skepticism (ranging from multiple aspects of the science, to the impacts that can be attributable to AGW and whether or not they are “dangerous” to the policies proposed for CO2 mitigation) seems to be completely missed by all of the “scholars” writing articles about ‘deniers’. The argued point “A sizeable (and growing) proportion of the public in Western democracies deny the existence of anthropogenic climate change” should provide a clue to these people that something is fundamentally wrong with their thinking.
IPCC Embraces Geographic Quotas « NoFrakkingConsensus
The IPCC has abandoned science in favour of affirmative action.
For years, we’ve been told fairy tales about the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). There was nothing accidental about this. They were a deliberate part of the IPCC’s marketing message. And 99% of the world’s journalists fell for them.
The biggest fairy tale of all was that IPCC reports are produced by the world’s finest scientific minds – by the crème de la crème.
...How many top-notch universities exist in Africa versus North America? How likely is it, therefore, that that the former is going to produce, nurture, and support the highest calibre scientists the world has to offer?
The true state of affairs is now becoming clear to even the most casual observer. The IPCC never was a collection of the world’s top scientists. It’s just another UN boondoggle.
