How Climate Change Was Removed From the Agenda of the Rio+20 Summit - The ITT List

The Durban Climate Conference last winter ended in almost unqualified failure. The original framework of U.N. climate negotiations was all but abandoned in favor of a new global pact that may or may not be negotiated by 2015 and may or may not be legally binding. Climate change deniers literally crashed the party by parachuting onto a beach in Durban carrying a “Climategate 2.0” banner—and public perception in the U.S. on the reliability of climate science continued to shift in their direction, cementing the stalemate on a domestic climate deal.

...In advance of the summit, indigenous leaders from across South America are converging on Rio to take part in the Peoples' Summit and oppose the use of sustainable development to infringe on their land and water rights. "We have a very clear message,” Moi Enomenga, a Waorani leader from Ecuador told Tierramerica. “Leave everything beneath the Earth."

Dem senator: Humans causing climate change, saying otherwise is 'bogus' - The Hill's E2-Wire

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) declared on the Senate floor Thursday that the debate over whether humans are causing climate change is over, and that it has been shown conclusively that human activity is leading to global warming.

"People say there are questions about the theory," he said. "No, there are not.

"The argument that the jury is still out on climate change is a false and bogus argument," he added. "The jury is not out. In fact, the jury is in, the effects are obvious, they surround us every day, and we need to take action."

Whitehouse said the theory that warmth creates a moist atmosphere that traps heat has been around since the Civil War. "That's been basic textbook science for a century," he said. "It's never been controverted. It's a law, essentially, of science."

Doctored Data, Not U.S. Temperatures, Set a Record This Year - Forbes

Science blogger Steven Goddard at Real Science has posted temperature comparison charts (available here, and here) showing just how dramatically the NOAA and NASA bureaucrats have doctored the U.S. temperature data during the past several decades. As the before-and-after temperature charts show, government bureaucrats with power and funding at stake have turned a striking long-term temperature decline (as revealed by the real-world data), into a striking long-term temperature increase.

Sen. Whitehouse is quoting Peter Gleick, the unconvicted felon who wire frauded the Heartland Institute.

You would think he could find someone more reputable to mimic.

Rhode Island, what happened to you? Did you get bought out by Bloomberg to keep this guy?
