Hummingbirds, lilies thrown off by climate change | AAAS MemberCentral

The implications of climate change can reverberate through ecosystems, wreaking havoc on the delicate interactions that have evolved between species over millions of years. [Wasn't there an enormous amount of climate change countless times over those millions of years?]

A stupid tax to cripple business now includes handouts to keep the most unionised ones open.

What Happened In Rio? | Power Line

Two observations: First, the failure of the “green” agenda is being driven in substantial part by the fact that millions of people around the world have figured out that the climate alarmists are, mostly, a bunch of dishonest, self-interested hoaxers. But, second, it now seems clear that the Kyoto phenomenon was overrated from the beginning. There perhaps was never much danger that the world would impoverish itself to satisfy (and in some cases enrich) greenies. If memory serves me correctly, the only country that lived up to its Kyoto commitment was Romania, and that was likely inadvertent–”greenness” can be the effect, as well as the cause, of poverty.

When it was time for the rubber to hit the road, it became clear that the anti-fossil fuel agenda was going nowhere; certainly not in the long-poor countries of the underdeveloped world who finally have a shot at prosperity. We can hope that Rio + 20 was the beginning of the end for global warming alarmism.

Climate-Change Dogma Full-Circle

  • Newsweek mag. Jan 26, 1970…..”Because of increased dust, cloud cover and water vapor…..the planet will cool, the water vapor will fall and freeze and a new Ice Age will be born”.
  • New York Times, Jan 5, 1978…..”An international team of specialists has concluded from eight indexes of climate that there is no end in sight to the cooling trend of the last 30 years, at least in the Northern Hemisphere.”
