Canberra's coldest mornings since 1965 | Australian Climate Madness

Canberra has shivered through its eighth straight freezing, frosty morning, the coldest stretch of winter mornings in 47 years.

1921 – The Hottest Year In US History | Real Science

According to the measured temperature data from USHCN, 1921 was the hottest year in US history. There were 654,134 temperature measurements taken that year around the country – and according to James Hansen every single one of them was incorrect and needed to be adjusted downwards – a lot.

So what do we know about 1921?  We know that the Earth had a “fever” and that it was worldwide. Al Gore was 85 years too late.

Global Warming Ends Abruptly | Real Science

A couple of days ago we were told that global warming was determined by the temperature in the eastern half of the US.  Using the new found wisdom which has been imparted on us, we can safely state that global warming has officially ended.

US official: Higher ocean acidity is climate change’s ‘evil twin,’ major threat to coral reefs | JunkScience.com

The speed by which the oceans’ acid levels has risen caught scientists off-guard, with the problem now considered to be climate change’s “equally evil twin,” National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration chief Jane Lubchenco told The Associated Press.

...Scientists initially assumed that the carbon dioxide absorbed by the water would be sufficiently diluted as the oceans mixed shallow and deeper waters. But most of the carbon dioxide and the subsequent chemical changes are being concentrated in surface waters, Lubchenco said.

“And those surface waters are changing much more rapidly than initial calculations have suggested,” she said. “It’s yet another reason to be very seriously concerned about the amount of carbon dioxide that is in the atmosphere now and the additional amount we continue to put out.”

Green Weenie, Supplemental | Power Line

Herewith a letter to the editor of the current issue of Nature magazine, presented without comment, as no comment is necessary:

We are scientists recently arrested in Canada for blockading a 125-car train carrying coal destined to release 26,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. We joined 11 other Canadians in this act, despite the personal risks and potential negative impact on our careers.

There’s more, but you get the idea.  Signed, Alejandro Frid and Lynne Quarmby.  Yeah, I’ve never heard of them either, or the Canadian universities where they are no doubt tenured.  But Nature, a prestige journal, saw fit to publish this drivel.  For this, Nature and the two earnest professors earn a special “supplemental” Green Weenie, blackboard edition.
