Simcoe Article: Barrie doc to learn from Al Gore
Dibble will be going to San Francisco Aug. 21 to 24 to learn how to explain the 'inconvenient truth' to those he encounters as he works and speaks to others in Barrie.
"Physicians shouldn't only care for the patient that walks in their office. Some of us have worked hard on smoking bans and bike helmets. We're working to protect people who will never walk into our offices," said Dibble, 47.
With a scientific background, Dibble enjoyed physics and chemistry.
When An Inconvenient Truth came out, he listened. He decided to investigate further and got involved with the Climate Reality Project, the organization Gore founded that focuses on educating people about the effects of climate change. He joined Climate Reality Project Canada, which is sending 100 people to San Francisco so they can speak well and knowledgeably about the issues.
Dr Paul Bain and Nature issue partial correction « JoNova: Science, carbon, climate and tax
It’s a start. Paul Bain regrets the offense caused by the term denier.

But there’s no mention of the term failing basic English or it’s unscientific nature. The term has been used by professors, M.P.’s, Prime Ministers and national broadcasters, and none of them have expressed even a hint of regret, but we can nonetheless call this a small win. Notch up one for skeptics, but ten for the fog.
