Oops: Scotland ‘Not Windy Enough’ For Green Energy | The Global Warming Policy Foundation
The amount of electricity produced from “green” energy sources in Scotland fell by almost half for a period earlier this year – because it was not wet or windy enough.
Will a new ‘Weather Commission’ be a benefit or a travesty? | Watts Up With That?
This smells like Trenberth’s doings at the behest of Al Gore and his “Dirty Weather” Campaign. If so, then I’m against it, because all this will do is create another bureaucracy loaded with opinionated thinkers sucking up more tax dollars adding to the already out of control federal deficit.
Climate Change: Assessing the Costs of Doing Nothing | The Green Grok
suppose we decide to impose a gasoline tax based on the social costs of carbon. Instead of the ~$0.05* per gallon tax at the pump (from the government’s central estimate of $21), a social cost of $250 per metric ton would add an extra $0.62* or more per gallon. Now we’re beginning to talk about real money. It would add about 16 percent to the cost I paid at the pump here in Durham the other day.

Is that bad?

"Is that bad?"

Yes, of course it is and here's a major reason why: middle and higher incomes can afford the 62 cents per gallon "tax", but the lower income households will be paying a much larger percentage of their incomes just for the fuel it takes to get them to their jobs or to the store to buy the goods that will also be more expensive as a result of the higher fuel prices. Your idea is ridiculously cruel for people at the lower economic levels. What about that don't you get? This is the same war on the poor that elitist fascism has always waged.
