THE HOCKEY SCHTICK: After Sandy, No One Lined Up for Wind Turbines
Sandy left millions of East Coast residents in the cold and dark. If any of them have been demanding "green" energy, I haven't heard about it. In the storm's aftermath, the most hopeful sound of recovery is the joyous racket that comes from an internal-combustion engine burning fossil fuels.
THE HOCKEY SCHTICK: Climate alarmists confounded again: New paper finds no effect of global warming on El Ninos
A paper published today in the Journal of Geophysical Research finds "there is no evidence that there are changes in the strength, frequency, duration, location or direction of propagation of El Niño and La Niña anomalies caused by global warming during the period from 1871 to 2008." The paper adds to several others contradicting the claims of climate alarmists, such as Kevin Trenberth, that global warming causes increases of the strength and frequency of El Ninos.

There is an interesting article on the Financial Times Adviser website on the subject of carbon credits. These worthless bits of paper are apparently being touted as investments and their sale as such is not regulated.

There are of course a great number of reasons for why Barack Obama was able to win a second term despite being an extremely weak and incompetent leader. However, the crucial underlying reason was without doubt the impact of the shale gas and oil on the U.S. economy and job creation. The shale gas revolution - which Obama has played no part in, even if he tried to take credit for it - made it difficult for Romney to bring home his message of an economy in steep decline.
