Japan to review its global warming target

A Japanese government spokesman says Japan will likely revise its target for cutting greenhouse gas emissions. He says the 25-percent reduction target set by the previous government is excessive and unrealistic.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said Thursday that his Liberal Democratic Party has always said the target was unachievable. The Democratic Party had set that goal when it was in power.
