United States Attorney Edward J. Tarver said, “There is no justification for taking what, by law, you do not own. Regina Beard’s unlawful actions will have a long lasting negative impact on two families. The theft of the identity of an innocent citizen inflicts severe and irreparable harm to the individual and to our nation’s financial institutions. Those responsible should suffer harsh punishment and stiff penalties. The United States Attorney’s office will continue to work hand in hand with federal and local law enforcement to see that identity thieves serve hard time.” ----

That's what some crook in Harlem got for sending her kid to school on her victim's dime.

What Peter Gleick did was infinitely worse. Let the punishment fit his crime.
