Scientists set straight the latest Mail on Sunday climate contortion | Carbon Brief

Climate forecasting is complicated, and scientific debate about why models don't generally match the last decade or so of observations was in full flow before David Rose's latest article. While the climate scientists we spoke to said it'll take a few decades more data until we know what's causing the current mismatch, none have argued this is anything close to "irrefutable evidence that official predictions of global climate warming have been catastrophically flawed", as the Mail on Sunday puts it.

I think it's important to not just look at the global temperature. The real lack of reliable predictions comes from the regional model forecasts. Also, look at the temperature distributions of the oceans during ENSO cycles. They get barely observable blips in the temperature anomolies while mother nature delivers swings 10x that size. And this is with hind casting. When GCM's can predict ENSO cycles, both magnitude and El Nino vs. La Nina, then they might be close.

Those scientists are political hacks, who have set up a strawman to mislead the public. It is not that the last 15 years have provided irrefutable evidence that the models--and global warming warnings--are catastrophically flawed; it is rather that they provide irrefutable evidence that the CATASTROPHIC warnings (for that is what they have been, not reasonable warnings at all) are outright WRONG. Fire them all, and jail the ringleaders, or all of science will suffer for at least another generation.

No data, just lofty opinions and fuzzy beliefs from people we pay for data. Data talks - BS walks.
