With enough snow already having fallen to push Anchorage into the top-10 snowiest Aprils on record, and cold weather hanging on in much of the state, spring seems at best a mirage -- a fantasy that Cheechakos brought with them from the Lower 48.

In the never ending quest for alarmists to one up their incompetent friends they continue to seek out new ways to demonstrate their own computer illiteracy. Enter James Powell who in a meaningless analysis is apparently ignorant that the 'Web of Science' database does not have a "peer-reviewed" only filter and the existence of a search phrase in a returned result does not determine it's context. Thus, all that can be claimed is there were 13,950 meaningless search results not "peer-reviewed scientific articles" for a query of the 'Web of Science' database - with 24 chosen by strawman argument.
THE HOCKEY SCHTICK: Paper finds another non-hockey-stick in the Alps, late 20th century temperatures were low to normal in comparison to past 9000 years
A paper published in Vegetation History and Archaeobotany reconstructs temperature variations in the Central Eastern Alps over the past 9,000 years and finds "summer temperatures as observed in the late 20th century were at the normal or the lower limit of the temperature range which can be assumed for long periods of the early and middle Holocene epoch" [the past 11,500 years].
