Poll: Majority of Republicans believe global warming a hoax - The Hill's E2-Wire
Fifty-eight percent of Republicans believe that global warming is a “hoax,” compared to 11 percent of Democrats, according to new polling that underscores political divides over climate change among U.S. residents.

Dr Claudia Bernardini, a climate change plant scientist at The University of Reading’s Department of Agriculture, said: “Over the past three winters many optimistic gardeners have seen borderline hardy plants such as the Canary Island date palm (Phoenix canariensis), Soft tree fern (Dicksonia Antarctica) and Hardy banana (Musa basjoo) killed by severe frosts and snow.

“Yet, despite this, climate models continue to predict a warming of the climate and we are told to prepare for much hotter summers in the medium term.

FARGO, N.D. — Just last fall, the reservoirs and rivers here in the Red River Valley were so low from drought that Mayor Dennis R. Walaker of Fargo was concerned that the faucets and shower heads in his city would run dry.

Now, Fargo residents are bracing for water that is expected to come rushing over those once-parched riverbanks.
