More freezes will melt climate change doubts | The Times
[Subscription required] Sceptics are convinced when they see the evidence: freak weather will worsen unless we act
It was the chilliest Easter Day on record, and last month may be the coldest March for at least 50 years, but we are not alone in shivering. Across much of Europe temperatures have been unseasonably cold. In Germany this has been called a once in a 100-year winter.
We should not be surprised. It has long been expected that climate change would bring more weird or extreme weather — not just cold but rain, droughts and heatwaves — to the UK. So longer spells of colder winter weather are consistent with this.
