Explorer Philip Goodeve-Docker freezes to death on second day of trek across Greenland - UK

A novice polar explorer from London froze to death and two colleagues were left critically ill after being caught in a massive storm as they trekked across the Arctic.

It is thought their tent was blown onto a glacier. They radioed for help but a helicopter was unable to reach them until the following day. Mr Goodeve-Docker is thought to have died overnight as temperatures plunged to -35C.
