Governor: We must prepare infrastructure for changing climate

KEENE -- Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Saturday he has no doubt man-made global warming is real and all levels of government must invest in more robust infrastructure to deal with the uptick of extreme weather events.

“I understand budgets are tight, but we can’t be short-sighted either,” Cuomo said, adding people too often “politicize” climate change while avoiding the supporting hard science. “Ocean temperatures are rising and we’re feeling it here in New York state.”

“This whole challenge of extreme weather isn’t something we’ve ever been through before,” he said.
