Identification of the bird in the videotape as an ivory-billed woodpecker "rests on mistaken interpretations of the bird's posture," according to a research team headed by David A. Sibley of Concord, Mass.

The NYT article is better. Fitz finally admits that the video is not difinitive!

but he doesn't admit that they have presented a totally bogus interpretation of the video as "proof" he says that well by definition if anyone can't see what he sees then to them the video is "inconclusive" but Fitz hasn't said that TO him the video is inconclusive ... somehow I just have to believe that he knows the video isn't conclusive but he is in too deep to turn back now.

surprised that he isn't showing up at the explorer's club.
