An excerpt:
Search teams exploring an Arkansas swamp for better evidence of the ivory-billed woodpecker said Thursday they had no new confirmation of the bird's existence, and wildlife managers said there was no longer a reason to limit public access to the region.
"Certainly we're somewhat disappointed," said Ron Rohrbaugh of the Cornell University Lab of Ornithology in Ithaca, N.Y. "We've had enough of these tantalizing sounds and we still have a lot of hope that there might be a pair, especially in the White River area."

If Brinkley residents are smart, they will turn this into dollars.
The Boondogle Inn, the Elvis Burger, an Alien museum....
Wax Museum with Fitz, Bobby, Tim, Luneau and the IBWO, of course. Hell, I would go!!
Duck hunters will love it!!
OOPS!….True Believer here… I just realized, after looking over my past postings, that I have made a horrible mistake. I’ve been making a repeated typo. Every place that I wrote “Fitz” I meant to write “Fred”. As in “Fred Collins”.
I’m sure that all of you will forgive me and continue to give me the benefit of the doubt that I so richly deserve. I don’t know what I was thinking. You Skeptics had me all flubber gusted.
Yes, my bold prediction is that Fred Collins and John Arvin will find 7 pairs of IBWO happily nesting in East Texas. You heard it here first.

Jon Andrew of Fish and Wildlife doesn't want to find a new job.
Can he be re assigned before the entire planet is a search team?
I guess we'll have to wait until Saturday to hear Bird Chick's sighting details. Is she the one volunteer that Cornell is acknowledging had an "encounter"? Or is it someone else? If it is someone else, what does that say?
A very sad day.
Skeptics, in their hearts, wanted to be proved wrong.
CLO and their groupies must do penance for their behaviour, absolutely disgusting.
TB, you remain the one Chosen One that has any credibility. You admit your mistakes and thoughtfully evaluate the evidence.
Methinks you are on to something here...but I gotta go and see what my friends at the BirdForum are saying. But keep us posted about Fitz-Fred-Crow - it may be a good time to start raising money!
News from the Department of Guess $1,000,000 Just Ain’t What It Used To Be.
“This season's search cost Cornell about $1 million, and Rohrbaugh said its spending would be trimmed for next season.” ....and....
“However, Lammertink said members of the team "have heard knocks, calls. We don't have an existing recording of an ivory-billed so we have to make extrapolations from other recordings," he said. "It's a complicated process."
(From two pieces, one in Reuters, the other from the Chicago Tribune)

I wonder why CLO doesn’t just make up the knock-knocks and calls, they made up everything else?
