You are exactly right. Even a month ago you could detect a sense of ambivalence in their reports.
Can you imagine having to report back to Fitzcrow? How do you tell him that birding on his dime and taking an eating tour of the South has been great, but that really you are beginning to worry that all this might reflect poorly on your resume?

Can we finally rule out after 2 more foolish years of intensive searching that FREAKIN' DOUBLE KNOCKS mean NOTHING. I am sick of ARUs picking up double knocks.
Anyhow, that should justify another 20 years of searching.
