A repeated charge by some True Believers is that skeptics are being "intellectually dishonest" by not accepting the mountain of evidence that supposedly supports the rediscovery of said iconic bird.
What they overlook is that nearly every one of the skeptics believed Cornell when they made the announcement. As more facts come out, skepticism grows. Show me a group of people who really want to believe something is true, but when faced with the evidence, admit it probably isn't, and I'll show you people that are very likely right, and, "intellectually honest."
